In a normal fortress, you have paths to the outside world (or maybe one path) and you have some sort of connection with the caverns. I lost 80 dwarves or so before discovering that somehow, my main cistern was infected - any dwarf that used a certain well immediately fell ill and started fountaining blood everywhere before dying. What follows is a frantic attempt to seal off all of the infected dwarves from the population, but more and more dwarves keep getting infected.

These dwarves make their way to the hospital, complaining of fever, and promptly melt - just a big pool of blood left, with a few bones in the center. Soon after I see a whole bunch of job cancelations: "Urist McPlaguecarrier cancels clean self: Resting injury". Along the way, I've had to deal with an underground forgotten beast or two.Īfter my squads of axedwarves in gleaming steel armor dispatched one of them, a few dwarves went to gather up its bits and throw them into the incinerator chute for disposal. I've got a very successful, 26-year-old fortress, and I recently decided to dig deep for glory, candy, and clowns. Kitfox Discord #modding-discussion channelīronzemurder and Oilfurnace (illustrated)
